Three Australian endemic sea snake species are listed as either Critically Endangered or Endangered. The lack of information on distributions and population trends of most sea snake species in Australia limits our understanding of their status. The Hub is gathering data on sea snake distribution in regions of north-western Australia where information is lacking, exploring links between populations, and assessing their susceptibility to fishing.
