Welcome to The Striped Trumpeter, a quarterly round-up of stories, videos, journal articles, reports and data from the NESP Marine Biodiversity Hub.
In April, Hub scientists completed a Herculean task involving more 70 contributors from 30 agencies with the production of Field manuals for marine sampling to monitor Australian waters. The manuals provide a pathway to nationally coordinated marine research and
monitoring, and we welcome your feedback as they are expanded and refined.
Also featured in this edition are population estimates for white sharks and western right whales, insights from the Hub’s AMSA Conference Indigenous Engagement Workshop, and extensive knowledge audits for Australia’s temperate shelf reef, shellfish reef and northern mangrove habitats.
We are very interested to know whether this information is useful, and to receive any other feedback. Please drop us a line.
